MIA + also MIA
Happy unofficial end of summer! I've been MIA for the past nine months, and a LOT has happened since I last posted. I've moved across the country (again), started a new job, and the list goes on! At the end of January, I moved from Chicago back to my hometown of Tampa. It was time for this gal to return back to some WARMTH. As much as I love the city, I do NOT love that cold. So with my return from being MIA, I thought I would write about my weekend in MIA (I am well aware that I'm the only one who thinks this is funny!).
A couple of weeks ago I traveled to one of my favorite cities, Miami, for an early birthday getaway. It wasn't a long trip, but it was enough for "two days of playin" (I couldn't resist a Will Smith reference). I've done Miami in a weekend twice and although I would prefer more time, you can truly see and do a lot in 48 hours!
Day 1 | Saturday
We stayed at The Standard Spa hotel, which has been on my list for quite some time! It's a 1950's hotel that has kept that mid-century look and quintessential Miami charm. The property was filled with lush greenery and yellow throughout, it was SO relaxing and picturesque!
At night, we went to KYU in Wynwood, a trendy Asian fusion restaurant, for dinner. I unfortunately didn't take any photos (sad face), but the food was AMAZING! Everything from the roasted cauliflower with goat cheese to the Thai fried rice stone pot was spot on, I HIGHLY recommend!
I wanted my outfit for the night to reflect the 50's vibe that surrounded, so polka dots it was!
Sunglasses | H&M
Necklaces | Madewell
Dress | Socialite Clothing from Nordstrom
Day 2 | Sunday
On Sunday morning, we woke up the have breakfast by the Bay. The hotel housed the Lido Bayside Grill, where we had chilaquiles and the BEST breakfast sandwich! The rest of the morning was spent laying by the pool.
In the afternoon, we went to Wynwood (my FAVORITE neighborhood) to have lunch at Coyo Taco and explore the walls!
I am COUNTING the days until I can once again "party in the city where the heat is on" (last Will Smith reference I SWEAR), there are still so many places left on my list to check out. Until next time!
