Fresh Finds | Tampa, Florida
Happy New Year! For the weeks surrounding Christmas and New Year's, I escaped the Chicago cold and spent time in my hometown of Tampa, Florida. Although it wasn't quite warm enough for daily beach visits, I did have the opportunity to check out some of the new spots that have popped up in my time away. OBVIOUSLY this post is laden with coffee shops, but I've also included a couple of restaurants and shops for good measure. Be sure to check them out if you're in the area!
Tampa Heights is a historic neighborhood north of Downtown that's been slowly becoming the trendy spot in the city. While there, I checked out Foundation Coffee Co. (see photos below). The coffee was GREAT and the space was amazing aesthetically. It industrial in nature with a patio lined with greenery in the back.

Down the block from Foundation, I tried The Hall on Franklin, a sit-down dining hall with a wide variety of food selections. They just opened a few months ago and it was SO good! 10/10 would recommend.

Right on the backside of Foundation was Fancy Free Nursery. WOW I was in heaven with greenery galore! I basically stepped in to my dream of being surrounded by plants and white brick. *insert heart eyes emoji here*

I had heard about The Blind Tiger a little while ago, and I happened to stumble upon it when I was walking around in Ybor one day. I love the speakeasy inspiration in this place as well as the menu. I will definitely be making a more intentional stop next time I'm in town!

Just over the bridge from Tampa is St. Petersburg, one of my favorites beachfront towns. My sister and I did some brunching at Cassis American Brasserie (170 Beach Dr NE, St. Petersburg, FL 33701), which was VERY tasty! After, we went to check out Bandit Coffee. This place has been on my list for quite some time, so it was great to finally go! I had a Spicy Cocoa Latte and oh my gawd WOW, so tasty with a kick. They also have a pretty cute mural that makes for great Instagram pics (let's be honest).
