October | Leather + Listens
Wow, I can’t believe October is almost over! If I’m being honest, I’m sort of happy. I’m TIRED of this lukewarm weather! One day it’s boiling with sunny skies, and the next pouring and chilly. This girl needs some consistency in her life!!! However, I know I’ll be kicking myself for saying that when this Chicago winter hits me right in the face. I’m just jazzed for this month’s end because I literally CANNOT wait to put up my Christmas tree! It’s the cutest little thing outfitted with red and silver décor. UGH the urge to sit and listen to Johnnyswim’s Christmas album on repeat is STRONG, but I guess the Monster Mash will do *insert rolling eye emoji here*. Now that the rant is done, I’ve put together some of my favorites from this month plus a little October playlist with listens that I’ve been jamming to. Read, listen, and enjoy!
I got this jacket last year for Christmas after eyeing the ALLSAINTS leather jackets for years! It's such a nice piece to have in my wardrobe. Unfortunately, mine is sold out, but I linked one below that is very similar! I will say, these run a little small! I typically wear a size 6 and took an 8, so one size up should be enough.
I also bought these boots around Christmas time last year. I was dead set on buying the Acne Jensen Boots, but after discovering they were sold out on practically every website, I found these amazing dupes. They honestly look exactly like the original at about a fifth of the cost! These are seriously my most worn shoes, especially this month!
I have been wearing these necklaces with everything! It's a set of three separate mixed metal necklaces that can be paired with everything from turtlenecks to band tees.
Okay, so now my favorites of the favorites! This book is seriously amazing. I know you've seen it all over Instagram (including mine), but it truly lives up to the hype. I was in awe of Rupi's first collection, Milk and Honey, and couldn't wait to get my hands on her second. It's such a raw and essential telling of the experiences of womanhood. 10/10 would recommend!!!
Now on to music! I've been actively trying to discover new music this month and was able to compile a list of just that (well...mostly). I have some tried and trues jams from Noah Gundersen and Bon Iver (I'm sorry, I can't help it), but also fresh finds like Remo Drive and joan. Enjoy and Happy Halloween!
